Saffron Crocus Reserves made a great improvement on their last two league games as they went close to causing a shock at division three side Foxton United Reserves on Saturday in the John Abblet Cup.
It was a good all round performance that deserved more, but unfortunately for Crocus, the turning point was a penalty miss that would have put them 3-2 up late in the game.
However, it proved costly as Foxton put themselves in the driving seat with a goal soon after.
As Crocus pushed up with minutes to go looking for the equaliser and extra time, it all went wrong as the home side grabbed the fourth at the death, to book their place in the next round.
Mark Wilkingson and Gareth Adams were on target for Crocus.
