POSTMAN Terry Crisp put his distinctive stamp on the Ridley League dominoes singles with another quick-fire delivery that warned his rivals: "I want my title back."

The champion from 2004-06, an early casualty last season, was back in the groove at Chelmsford City FC's club house last week to polish off his first two challengers with minimal resistance, and was enjoying a celebration pint while half the field were still slugging it out.

With reigning champ Shane Kochan (Cricketers, Mill Green) a non-starter, and two former final victims, Pat Monk (2004) and Simon Brewster (2005) failing to make it through the first round this time, Crisp could face a clash with Colin Smith, from CCFC's 'A' team, when the semi-final draw is made.

Smith came through in the deciding leg against Kochan's mum Caroline after both players had had a first-round bye.

Brewster's conqueror Alan Tite (Rayne Cock) emulated Crisp by steaming through his two matches without conceding a leg, while Carole Cooke (Bardfield Vine) confirmed her credentials by following her first-round victory over Monk with a hard-won success in another toughie, against Basil Chapman (Black Bull, Margaretting).
