SAFFRON Walden Cricket Club Academy began weekly winter training sessions last Friday in the Sports Hall at the County High School, and these will continue for nine more weeks.
Each session lasts one hour and goes through the evening according to age - the first, between 4-5pm, is for girls, and the evening finishes with the 15 and 16-year-olds from 9-10pm.
Of special interest is a core programme from 8-9pm, for over-14s on all aspects of cricket activity. This Friday the topic is careers in cricket.
On March 10, top Essex Coach, John Childs will talk on the subject of coaching and anyone interested is welcome, including other club members.
