It was the small fish that decided the outcome of Saffron Walden Angling Club's Countrystore League in the penultimate match at Home Farm, Little Walden, as Steve Clark secured the league title for the second year.
Brian Mizon, and Tim Nash started well, with several others then putting on a good show.
Brian, on a corner peg, started catching almost from the start, but Tim Nash found the fish willing to feed on pole fished pellet under a nearby tree. Clark was also witnessed going through his repertoire before he too started to catch.
The best night's weather for ages also saw some of the best weights. Tim Nash bringing 33kg to the scales enough to put him just ahead of Steve Clark with 30kg of carp. Third was Brian Mizon with 28kg, while many other anglers had double figure nets.
