CHRIS BRIGHT made the most of a rare Ridley League outing with the winning shot that marked up a double milestone for the Black Horse.

Her double four gave the White Roding pub their first women's section win - and wrecked the Bardfield Vine girls' unbeaten run. The Vine, however, took the other three match points, Rob Wright hitting a 126 finish in his singles.

The Retreat steam on at the top of the North Section, still heavily dependent on their powerful singles line-up, though their ladies contributed a crucial point in the 8-7 win at Flitch Snooker A.

Flitch B lost by the same margin as the Cock kept up their title chase with the help of a 180 by Matt Atkinson. The Dunmow side, in fact, edged the darts on the night, but the Cock's dominoes supremacy swung the match.

Felsted Chequers were also "spot on" with a dommies whitewash that totally transformed the scoreline against the Black Lion on a night when the darts honours were pretty evenly divided.

CCFC B continue to make the pace in the South Section. They were down to the bare bones of a side at Margaretting, but held off close rivals Black Bull for a vital win. Nigel Chapman (152 start) and Andy Oubridge were on great form for the Bull, but Barry Devenish's 14-darter clinched the singles for City, who also won the battle of the division's two unbeaten dominoes sides.

CCFC A's 12-3 drubbing of the Bird in Hand moves them to within touching distance of the Bull, and relegates the Bird to last place. Hatfield Peverel Swan picked up enough points in their home defeat by the Cricketers to hoist themselves off the bottom rung. Marion Wiley (Cricketers) had a 116 in-shot.
