Chesterfords were outclassed by Birchanger on Saturday on a beautiful day made for cricket.

The hosts won the toss and batted first, but Gillard bowled aggressively and had the batsmen hopping all over their creases while Tyler from the other end tied the batsmen down with his accurate medium pace. Both bowlers found movement off of the seam and Chesterfords batsmen had no answer.

D Lightning was the first to fall on one and P Phillips was then caught before J Lipscombe was cleaned bowled by Gillard.

D Perring and W Mughal were the only Chesterfords batsmen to offer any resistance, but when Mughal fell on 21 to Ahmed, who bowled superbly all day taking 4-25, and Perring (28), fell to Edwards (1-22), Chesterfords collapsed to 115 all out.

In reply Chesterfords took the early wicket of Bass thanks to some good sustained pressure from Perring, (1-22), but the two turning points in the game came soon after when Mughal dropped Gladwin off of T Thake's bowling on seven and S Squares dropped a thin edge from Rose on four off of the bowling of Perring.

Gladwin and Rose offered no other chances to Chesterfords as they cruised to 49 notout and 37 not out respectively, with Birchanger winning the game by nine wickets in the 31st over.
