Tim Bridgman is on the verge of claiming the Visma Formula Audi Championship after a great weekend at Donington Park.
The Laser Motor Company-backed driver was first in round 16 and took second spot in round 17.
Bridgman, from Dunmow, was delighted with his weekend's work.
"It was a very successful weekend for me," he said.
"I have changed my tactics now and go into every race to gain points and increase my lead and I've managed to do that, which is pleasing.
"We now go into Croft with a healthy advantage."

Bridgman started from pole in the first race of the weekend and led for the entire race with only Matt Hamilton challenging.
The two drivers had a great battle with Bridgman coming out on top.
"Matty and I had it pretty straightforward," said the 22-year-old. "I had been saving a couple of shots of boost for the last lap but the red flag put an end to my chances."
Bridgman started in fourth spot in Sunday's race, but drove well to finish second, with Stefan Wilson keeping the championship race alive with first place.
The Dunmow driver drove a tactical race that focused on points rather than glory, but admits that he would have had to work hard to catch Wilson. "I started with really low tyre pressures to give me a good car towards the end of the race and it nearly worked," he said.
The final rounds of the championships are at Croft on September 22 and 23.
"I've driven there before and I'm always quick there so I'm confident," said Bridgman.
"If I can beat Stefan Wilson and Luciano Bacheta in the first race I will win the championship so I'm looking to do that.
"I'm going for three wins and no-one has done a clean sweep this year so it would be great to finish on a high note.
