IRON Manager Alan Devonshire has had a busy week and has added four more players to his squad for the forthcoming Blue Square Bet Premier season.

Signing up for another year at Cressing Road are popular midfielder Brad Quinton and last season’s player of the year – goalkeeper Nathan McDonald.

The gaffer has also brought in two new faces to strengthen the squad and has added 22-year old striker Ben Wright, who joins from Crawley Town, and 21-year old left back Aswad Thomas, who has joined from Blue Square Bet South side Woking.

Braintree Town Chairman Lee Harding also has been delighted with the uptake of season ticket applications so far this summer, with sales almost treble that of this time last season.

He told the club website: “We were selling season tickets right up to the deadline and the support from the town has been a real shot in the arm. But don’t worry if you’ve missed out. The next deadline for those of you still thinking about purchasing a season ticket is on Friday, July 15. My thanks to all of you who have supported the club.”
