Aztecs made it two wins in a row coming from behind to take the points at Ramsey on Sunday.

The home side took an early lead but Aztecs equalised when Jack Fosberry chipped the ball over the advancing keeper. Fosberry, Reynolds and Tim Jefferies all had chances to score, but it was Ramsey who took the lead again just before half-time.

After the break, it was a different story as Aztecs took control of the game. Adam Kelly bundled the ball in from a corner and James Jefferies turned in a cross from his brother before two late goals from George Reynolds sealed the points.

Aztecs got off to an impressive start to the season with a comfortable victory at Whittlesford.

Callum Izzard opened the scoring after five minutes and new signing Toby Goodship grabbed a second shortly after, before Ben Paterson found the net with a fierce strike.

Whittlesford started the second period well and pulled a goal back. However the visitors continued to dominate and Izzard completed his hat-trick with two quick goals, with Tommy Smith and Tyler Thurgood also getting on the score sheet.

Goalkeeper Ben Linsdell came out on pitch for the final period and marked his appearance with a goal. Whittlesford pulled a second goal back shortly after, but Aztecs continued to dominate and Thurgood slotted home his second of the match before Smith placed the ball past the keeper to wrap up the win.

Dunmow United Rovers U-11 2 Great Notley United 4

The first game of the new season saw Rovers put in an impressive performance however, it was not enough to prevent United slipping to a defeat against Great Notley.

Dunmow started the brighter, but Notley scored a well taken goal early in the first half.

United responded with Paris St Hill equalising before he put Dunmow ahead.

United started the second half strongly, but three goals from the visitors gave them the victory.

Dunmow United U-9 Lions 0 Hatfield Peverel Blues 3

A depleted Dunmow Lions side slipped to a defeat at home to Hatfield on Saturday.

They were unlucky to conceded a breakaway goal after 15 minutes and another just before half-time.

With no substitutes, one sick and one injured player, things were not looking good for the second half. However, the boys played well although Peverel grabbed a third goal late on.

Maldon Saints Lions U-9 3 Dunmow Rhodes Lions 5

In a tense and thrilling spectacle, Rhodes kept their heads to finish victory at Maldon.

The Lions started strongly and took the lead through Brown in the first minute, but Saints equalised just two minutes later.

Thompson then fed Carey who scored Dunmow's second and after 15 minutes a stunning free-kick by Wise gave the keeper no chance.

The second half started with Rhodes on the back foot and in the 34th minute Saints pulled one back. Rhodes then conceded a penalty, but Johnson pulled off a brilliant save down at his left hand post.

Minutes later, it was Rhodes turn to be awarded a penalty and Wise stepped up and converted

With five minutes to go Saints pulled another one back, but in stoppage time Gallop slotted the ball home to seal the victory.

Spartak Blacks U-12A 1 Brampton Spartans 5

The Blacks suffered their second defeat of the season following an encounter with a well-drilled Brampton side.

The home side started brightly but went behind on 12 minutes, and when a second and third were added on 19 and 23 minutes the game was getting out of reach.

Spartak started the second half strongly, but Spartans added a fourth five minutes after the re-start. Robert Chappell grabbed a consolation goal for Spartak, before the visitors wrapped up their victory.

Plantation Youth U-9 3 Aztec Juniors 1

Plantation started their league campaign with a victory over Aztecs.

They had a rocky start at the beginning letting in a goal half way through the first half.

A penalty in the second half from Bill Stanley got them back in the game and a minute Stanley headed Plantation into the lead. He fired in his hat-trick in the closing staged to give his side their first victory.

Manuden Juniors U-11 4 Fairlands Youth 3

Manuden defeated Fairlands at the weekend in a thrilling encounter.

The visitors opened the scoring, and despite some good attacking play from Manuden, were leading 3-1 at half-time.

A spirited second half fight back from the home side saw them score three times to take the points in their opening game of the season.

Goals came from Eren Bache, Joe Monti, Ben Coleman and Callum Taylor.

Manuden Juniors U-15 2 Wymondley 5

Manuden Juniors slipped to a defeat at home to Wymondley.

Callum Atkinson gave Manuden the lead after 10 minutes, but Wymondley replied with a goal two minutes later.

In the second half the visitors fired in three more goals, with Riley Frost finding the net for Manuden.

Saffron Walden U10B 3 Balsham 1

Saffron Walden started off the season with a hard fought victory.

Charlie Mosley opened the scoring for Walden early on and great defending saw them lead 1-0 at half-time.

Balsham equalised seconds into the second half, but goals from Dylan Reams and Jordan Smith gave Walden the points.

Saffron Walden Town U-13 A 4 Cottenham United Colts 3

The Young Bloods continued to enjoy the challenge of top flight football at the weekend, when despite missing several regulars they staged a dramatic late comeback to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

Walden opened the scoring after 18 minutes through David Anthony, yet found themselves 3-1 behind after conceding three goals within 10 minutes either side of the interval.

However, Dan Bear got them back in the game and two more goals from Anthony completed the fight back.

Walden Spirit U-13 0 Burwell Swallows 2

Spirit coped well with the transition from mini soccer to 11-a- side and played some good football despite suffering a defeat at home to Burwell on Sunday.

Spirit probably deserved at least a draw, but this wasn't to be and, despite some good passing moves, Spirit just couldn't find the back of the net.

Burwell Swallows took their chances they had and were graceful victory.

Walden Spirit U-14 1 Histon Hornets 3

The home side had a slow start to their first match of the season.

Histon Hornets took advantage and were 3-0 up within 20 minutes and a stunned Spirit struggled to respond.

Once Spirit started to settle they looked like getting back into the match and Emma Jenkins gave Spirit renewed hope with a mazing run through the Histon midfield to slot home before half time.

In the second half Spirit looked the stronger side but despite hitting the post and blasting the ball over the bar at close range, they were unable to make any of their chances count.

Harlow Town U-8 5 Elsenham 1

Owen Palmer got on the score sheet for a second week running, but his second-half effort wasn't enough for Elsenham against a strong Harlow Town side.

Trailing 2-0 at half-time, Elsenham pulled one back when Palmer netted after some good passing football.

However, the visiting players started to forget their positions and Harlow Town scored three more goals to seal the victory.

Two late goals denied Elsenham a share of the spoils after a closely- fought game at Katherines School.

The visitors began with energy and commitment, resulting in Harlow Town conceding an early own-goal. The opposition fought back and netted two goals to edge in front at half-time.

Elsenham came out for the second half in determined mood and within seven minutes had retaken the lead thanks to two goals from Aston Bowden.

However, the away team's exertions took their toll and Harlow were able to capitalise with three goals to give them the victory.

Thaxted Rangers Blues U-9 4 Wilvale Rangers Lions 1

Thaxted looked impressive in their first competitive outing of the season against Wilvale with three goals coming in the first half.

The first was a stunning shot by Timmy Jossaume and the next two were courtesy of Jack Morris; the first tucked into the net following a corner and the next a belter into the top of the net.

After the break it was Jossaume for Thaxted who again found the back of the net, but Wilvale never looked out of the game and kept the pressure on throughout scoring from a penalty given for handball.

Hatfield Peverel Jets U-11 0Thaxted Rangers 2

A great second half performance saw Thaxted defeat Hatfield Peverel on a dry and dusty pitch.

The home side did carve out some early chances, but these were defended well and Thaxted could have been two up at half-time having hit the upright and had a chance cleared off the line.

Thaxted played a much more expansive game in the second half and finally broke through when a quick throw in left the defence flat footed and George Simmons raced clear to score.

Tommy Mercer added a second with a well aimed shot and by the final whistle Thaxted were comfortable winners.

Thaxted Rangers U-12 6 Tollesbury Juniors 1

Thaxted notched up their first win of the season with a fine team performance against Tollesbury.

They went ahead early on with a goal from Freddie Haines and despite having the majority of the play that was to be the only goal of the half.

In the second half Thaxted soon went 2-0 up through Shaun Mustafa before Tollesbury pulled one back.

Thaxted then comfortably saw the game out with goals from Sam Moulsher, Shaun Mustafa, Danny Buckley and Ben Jolliffe.

Thaxted Rangers Yellows U-9 2 Flitch Youth 3

Flitch put in a good performance to defeat Thaxted at the weekend.

Flitch started the game well but soon found themselves a goal down. Cory Frost soon scored his first goal of the game to help Flitch equalise.

Flitch then fell behind from an own goal before Tommy Bull fired in an equaliser. Cory Frost foudn the net in the last few minutes to give Flitch their second win of the season.
