Batting first on a damp wicket, Dunmow reached 129-9. However in reply, Ipswich made 130-9 taking the victory.
On Saturday Dunmow visit Worlingworth A, 1.30pm start.
Dunmow seconds' Herts & Essex cricket league Division Two game at home to Thorley was abandoned on Saturday due to heavy rain.
Weather permitting, they are due to host Birchanger this weekend at 1.30pm.
