Walden Tri athletes go from strength to strength with another set of impressive performances.

At the Half Ironman UK at Wimbleball, Exmoor, gutsy James Sheairs crossed the line after a 1.9 km swim, 90.1km bike and 21km run despite a major setback.

This premier race is a qualifying event for the World Championships in Clearwater, USA and had a strong international field.

On finding that he was without proper cycle shoes, Sheairs completed the tough bike course in trainers.

Others would have withdrawn from the race, but James demonstrated true ironman grit in overcoming this setback and accomplished a tremendous overall position of 220 out of 1300 competitors in 5hr 58min

Greg Lewis, in his first ironman distance and Phil Standen also produced great performances with times of 6hr 01min (237) and 6hr 14min (345) respectively. Visit www.waldentri.co.uk for more information.
