WATERPROOF clothing is what you need if you go fishing at the moment and on Wednesday evening, Saffron Walden Angling Club's Countrystore League was no exception.
Rain lashed down on competitors at Westside Farm, Whittlesford. The usually prolific carp and silver fish had gone for cover but enough activity was found with the larger carp to keep anglers interested.
Pole fished cat meat was the method used by the top three anglers. Leading the way Tim Nash had 16kg of carp to win from Brian Mizon (11.6kg) and league leader Steve Clark (11.5kg).
Next match, Wednesday evening at Home Farm, Little Walden.
