Grange Farm and Dunmow Runners (GFDR) took part in the first race in the Mid-Essex Cross Country League on Sunday at the Olympic mountain bike course at Hadleigh.
First for GFDR was Alistair Brown, with Steve Read, Dan Reynolds, Jason Wintin, Ashwin Shah, James Huertas and Paul McKenna all scoring points.
Point scorers for GFDR’s women were Jo Bisset-Smith, Claudine Davie, Hayley Smith and Jeanette Hartley.
The home club, Leigh-on-Sea Striders, fielded both the men’s and women’s winning teams.
GFDR’s women were second, their men were joint second with Springfield Striders. GFDR host the next meet on December 21.
