Dame Bradbury’s Junior School’s U11 girls’ football team has qualified for the Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) national finals after winning the Essex event.

The girls played remarkably to beat Forest School, Heath Mount School and St Cedd’s School in the group stages, as well as partner school Stephen Perse Foundation, Junior School from Cambridge in a nail-biting semi-final.

Finishing in second place after Highgate School, Dame Bradbury’s will now progress to the ISFA national finals at the FA's facility at St George’s Park.

Sam Godfrey, head of sport at Dame Bradbury’s, said: "We are all incredibly proud of the team’s achievement in finishing as runners up in the regional tournament and qualifying for the national finals.

"They played some excellent football and worked really hard for one another, demonstrating the strength of girls’ football within Stephen Perse."

Students at Dame Bradbury’s benefit from a generous provision for sporting activities, from a sports field and astro turf to a multi-use sports hall, climbing wall, and two full-sized netball and tennis courts.
