Dunmow 3 E2V Tech 0

DUNMOW extended their unbeaten run to three games with an emphatic 3-0 win over fellow strugglers E2V Technologies, thanks to an Andy Harvey strike and two from Michael Church.

Church’s third will also go down as a goal of the season contender as the striker hit a sweetly timed 40-yard lob over the keeper to seal all three points at the Recreation Ground.

The hosts looked the better side from the off and started briskly, dominating possession for the opening half but going in at half time at 0-0.

The second half saw E2V start to play more penetrating football but it was the hard working Harvey who was to deservedly break the deadlock.

Battling between midfield and attack Harvey picked the ball up 25 yards out and bustled into the penalty area, unleashing a well placed shot to beat the E2V keeper.

This was no more than Dunmow deserved and they quickly went 2-0 up. Again showing that, when they play their passing brand of football they are unstoppable – a quick break from midfield found Matt Coopersmith out on the right wing.

He made a great run down the line, beating two defenders before crossing to Church at the far post who made no mistake with a straight forward tap in.

Dunmow started to tire and some sloppy defending exposed keeper Will Green who was making his goalkeeping debut for Dunmow, but he pulled out an excellent point blank save to prevent the visitors from getting a foothold back in the game.

The prolific Church then scored the goal of the match and season with his 40 yard wonder strike to allow his side to canter home.

Next: Dunmow travel to Battlesbridge on Saturday. Kick off 2pm.
