Takeley boss Marc Das was left disappointed as his side bowed out of the FA Cup on Saturday going down 2-0 at Barking in the extra preliminary round.
It is the fourth season running that the Station Road side have bowed out at the first hurdle.
A goal for the hosts just a minute before the break from Petrit Elbi broke the deadlock at a crucial time in the clash.
The result was wrapped up on 75 minutes when Joseph Pearman doubled his side’s advantage to Takeley’s frustration.
Das, who had seen his team win both league games prior to the cup tie, told the Broadcast: “I am disappointed with the way we played Saturday considering the way we have been playing.
“We didn’t seem to have the same intensity we had shown so far this season.
“The goal on half-time was a bit of a killer. The second goal came after we had won a tackle in our box and the ball fell to a player who shot through a number of players.
“[To exit the cup] is a bit of a disappointment as if you can have a run it can help the club financially.
“We had a talk on the pitch after the game and immediately looked towards the next game and where we had to improve.”
Barking will now go on to face Stanway Rovers in the next round.
