WORLD Reflexology Week starts on Sunday and a display will run in Dunmow so that people can find out all they need to know about the benefits of complementary therapy.
Reflexology is a therapeutic massage that stimulates areas on the feet or hands known as reflexes. The premise that there is a definite relationship between areas of the feet and hands to other parts of the body is what makes reflexology so unique*.
By skilfully applying pressure using thumbs, fingers and hands to the reflexes the energy flow around the body will improve and the treatment encourages the body to create a feeling of well-being and maintain homeostasis.
During World Reflexology Week (which runs Sunday to Saturday, September 20 to 26), there will be a display in the Dunmow's new library. As well as finding out about complementary therapy, visitors will also get the opportunity submit their details into a free draw for one person to receive a full treatment.
Reflexology is being promoted during the week by Lorraine Senior MAR IFR, who will be offering special rates for taster and full treatments at Figurewise Health and Beauty, 12c Stortford Road, Dunmow
For further information and to book a treatment contact Lorraine on 07723776200, email@example.com or visit www.reflectivesole.co.uk
*Reflexologists do not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe, but the treatment may alleviate symptoms.
