The speaker was John Newton on the subject of Lake Garda and the Dolomites. Members were treated to a very informative talk illustrated by some excellent slides, and learnt that Lake Garda was the longest lake in Italy. He visited beautiful villages along the lake and then explored the mountains. It was a talk to be recommended to other institutes. Several members had an enjoyable and tasty visit to 'Tastes of Anglia' at Chilford Hall, Linton on March 10. Flitch Group tickets are on sale for the meeting at the United Reformed Church Hall on April 17. A 'Flog It' evening has been arranged for October 31 in the Talberd Room. The president gave a report on the county's 90th annual meeting at Brentwood, where the main speaker was Edwina Currie. Joint winners of the competition for a 'Scenic Water View' were Carole Stanton and Chris Atkins. The raffle winners were Chris Rendell and Carole Stanton. The next meeting is on Wednesday, April 11, when the speaker will be Alan Jones on the subject on 'Researching the Family Tree'. The competition is for a 'Piece of Crested China'.
