A Dunmow entrepreneur and mum, whose youngest child is just two-years-old, has been recognised by the chief executive of retailer Ann Summers for her firm’s success.

Mum and step-mum to five children, Cheryl Price, from CH Accountancy, in Ford End, was one of three winners selected by Jacqueline Gold after she entered ‘Women on Wednesday’, a competition which celebrates female entrepreneurs and businesswomen.

Ms Gold said: “Cheryl’s focus on family-friendly business sets CH Accountancy apart.”

Cheryl said: “One of the reasons I set up my company was that I could be there for sports days, parent’s evenings and things like that. It’s not the easiest, quite often my kids come to work with me.

“There’s not enough opportunity out there for parents, especially mothers. Most places aren’t flexible, they won’t give you time off. I wanted to be able to give somebody the opportunity to have a career but also look after their kids.”
