WHITE RODING: Fire crews called to sub station fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called to an electricity sub station blaze in the early hours on Thursday (Dec 5).

At around 4.30am crews from Leaden Roding and Old Harlow were sent to Marks Hall Lane, White Roding after a transformer attached to a pole had exploded and then set fire to a garden shed.

Crews requested the electricity board to attend the scene. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used one jet and one hose reel to extinguish the fire by 5.40am.
