A DISPLAY of hundreds of vintage tractors and cars raised more than £3000 and drew massive crowds to Thaxted on Sunday.
More than 100 vehicles and agricultural machines were on show to the public at the Copthall Lane event, which has been held practically every year for the last 20 years.
Fred Knight, who has been collecting vintage tractors since the early 70s, was the main organiser of the event.
"It went very, very well," he said, "it was a nice dry day and we had a great convivial crowd turn up that must have been in excess of 800 people; very satisfactory for our small event.
"The Austin 7 Club was represented as well, so we had about a dozen Austin 7s there, which was very pleasing.
"The main objective of the event was to provide an opportunity for likeminded 'real Essex' people to have a day together to chat and reminisce.
