EX-HELENA Romanes pupil Paul Bullen is hitting the headlines again after winning a national competition and, therefore, the chance to perform with an international artist.

Since we last caught up with him, Paul, 26, from Little Bardfield, has been a finalist on BBC radio 2's Search For a Songwriter, wrote music for channel four show Big Brother, and he has now won a competition on social website Bebo, clocking up more than 1000 votes on-line to win him the prize of performing on stage with platinum selling American artist Jason Mraz.

Delighted with the win, Paul said: "He is one of my favourite ever artists and I cannot wait to perform with him, I can't thank enough the hundreds of people who voted."

For the competition, Paul had to perform and video a cover version of Jason Mraz's song I'm Yours and upload it onto Jason's Bebo sight so it could voted on by fans.

He swept the board with over 1300 votes for his version, putting him way ahead of the other artists on the website.

Record label spokesman Suzie Frize-Williams said: "To record so many votes was a great effort because Paul has only been on Bebo for around a month and he relied totally on Mraz fans as well as artists such as John Mayer's and Jack Johnson's fan bases to vote for him."

The singer songwriter will join Mraz on stage at the Cambridge Junction on June 30.
