POLICE are seeking two men who fled the scene after the van they were in crashed into a house in Thaxted, causing extensive damage.
The accident happened at 5am yesterday, Wednesday, when a the driver of a yellow Ford Transit van lost control and drove into a house at The
Bull Ring.
The van punched a large hole in the house but nobody was hurt. It is believed that the occupants were not at home at the time.
A police spokesman said: "The driver and a passenger had left the scene when we arrived at around 5am.
"Witnesses described the passenger as being approximately 45 years old, very slim, with a bald head, a tanned complexion, and was wearing a black top and dark blue jeans.
"The driver was a man of average height and build, with short dark hair. He was wearing dark clothing."
Anyone who saw the two men in Thaxted early on Wednesday morning, or knows of anyone who fits the description and who drives a Ford Transit, are asked to contact police.
