A woman charged with attempted murder and firearms offences has been remanded in custody after a court appearance earlier today (Tuesday).
Police officers were called to an incident in Watts Close, Barnston, near Dunmow, around 11.10pm on Sunday evening (January 5) following reports of a domestic dispute and a firearm being discharged. No one was injured in the incident.
Elaine Freeman, 55, from Watts Close, Barnston appeared at Colchester Magistrates Court earlier today where she has been remanded in custody until March 17 to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court.
She is charged with the attempted murder of her husband Stephen Freeman and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
