Two women have been taken to hospital following a head-on crash in Hatfield Broad Oak earlier today (Tuesday).
Emergency services were called to the scene of the two-vehicle collision, on Collier Street, shortly after 3pm.
The East of England Ambulance Service sent a rapid response vehicle, an air ambulance, two ambulances and a hazard response vehicle to treat the two casualties.
Two fire crews were also sent and firefighters had to use specialist cutting equipment to free the women.
One of the casualties was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with a suspected chest injury and the other was taken to Broomfield Hospital, in Chelmsford, with a suspected fracture to the ankle.
