One lane of the A120 at Great Dunmow is blocked westbound because of an accident involving two vehicles between Barnston (B1008) and Stortford Road (B1256).
The East of England Ambulance Service were called at 2.31pm and sent one paramedic and one rapid response vehicle.
Four people were assessed at the scene, but no serious injuries were reported and no one was taken to hospital.
