TWO men were taken to hospital after their white vans collided on the A1060 in Leaden Roding and ended up in a ditch last Thursday morning.

A 78-year-old man from Oxfordshire, who had got out of his vehicle when the emergency services arrived at about 9.35am, was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow by ambulance after complaining of neck and shoulder pain.

The other man involved in the incident, a 62-year-old, was taken to the same hospital by air ambulance.

Emergency medical technician Sharon Wilson said: "The 62-year-old man was complaining of chest pains and had likely suffered fractures to his ribs. He also suffered lacerations to his right arm, probably caused by the driver's window breaking.

"Fortunately we did not require the fire crews to cut him free and, after being treated on the scene, he was flown to hospital.
