Two brothers who were charged after fighting on New Year’s Day are due to appear in court.
The disturbance took place in Little Canfield shortly before 1am, with officers arriving to find a large number of people on Burgattes Road trying to split up Rhys and Rikki Bryant who had been involved in a fight.
The pair were arrested, later charged and are now on police bail prior to their appearances at Colchester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, January 21.
Rhys Bryant, a 20-year-old electrician from Ramsey Drive, Little Canfield, was charged with one count of using threatening behaviour with intent to provoke unlawful violence.
His 25-year-old unemployed brother from Wollaston Close, in Gillingham, Rikki Bryant, was charged with one count of assault and one count of also using threatening behaviour with intent to provoke unlawful violence.
