Travellers using a site opposite Woodlands Park in Dunmow will be moved on “as quickly as possible” according to Essex County Council (ECC).
ECC say they are aware of the travellers’ encampment in the town and are prepared to take further action if necessary.
Cllr Kay Twitchen, deputy cabinet member for sustainability, said: “We are aware that the travellers are using the site in Dunmow as an encampment, and the Essex Countywide Traveller Unit are in the process of securing a ‘Direction to Leave’ notice as quickly as possible.”
“In the event that the travellers do not move on when this is served, further action will be taken.”
