A TOWN council has praised residents and helpers who helped target 'litter hotpots' during a weekend tidy up.
The Great Dunmow spring clean attracted around 15 dedicated people who wielded litter grabbers, donned fluorescent jackets and got stuck in to fill up 20 sacks of litter.
Town clerk Caroline Fuller thanked everyone who took part and made special mention of the children who mucked in as well.
"It was a very enjoyable morning in the spring sunshine," she said. "We tackled several litter hotspots and made a real difference to the town."
