EXPENSES for Dunmow Town councillors have been revealed this week.

In total £5125.25 is shared amongst the 14 councillors in accordance with recommendations made by Uttlesford District Council's remuneration panel.

Town clerk Owen Wilson oversees the council's financial comings and goings.

He said: "If they chose to take it, each member receives £325 - that is less than £1 per day.

"The purpose of such a modest allowance is to reimburse members for costs they incur on postage, phone bills, use of computers and stationary."

An extra £43.50 is given to the chairmen of the council's four committees. Only one member of the council does not claim any expenses at all.
