Today: Essex residents commemorate the dead on remembrance Sunday

TODAY thousands will be paying their respects to those soldiers killed whilst serving the UK's armed forces.

At 11am on Sunday, remembrance services in Great Dunmow, and in the surrounding villages, will take place as former and current members of the Armed Forces, youth organisations and community leaders will gather at war memorials to commemorate the war dead, salute them and lay wreaths in their memory.

The main service in Great Dunmow will be held at the town centre memorial and conducted by Rev David Ainge. Afterwards there will be a further service at the United Reform Church on New Street.
