A tipper truck and garden waste shredder belonging to Uttlesford District Council were stolen from council premises in Saffron Walden.

The white truck, which was stolen from a council depot on November 2 and had Uttlesford District Council written on it, has been recovered.

The thief gained entry into the site by cutting a padlock on the main entrance gates, according to Essex Police.

An Uttlesford District Council spokesman said: “A vehicle and garden waste shredder were stolen from a Saffron Walden depot during the evening of Friday November 2. The police have recovered the vehicle and are investigating.”
