DUNMOW'S annual Rose Bowl quiz was this year won by The Greville Theatre Club from Little Easton.

Organised by the Rotary Club, the quiz invites teams from around the district to compete for the prized Rose Bowl trophy presented to the winners by Rotary chairman David Edwards.

The trophy, now in its 18th year, was proudly lifted by team captain David Faithfull after they pipped team Liberty X in a closely fought contest. Mr Faithfull said: "Thank you to all at the Rotary for such a great evening, made all the better for us by our surprise win. Well done to my team mates, namely Adrian Hoodless, Jan Mitchell, Jenny Hoodless, Janie Goodrum, Steve Bradley and Judy Lee."

David Edwards thanked the 14 teams that entered for the good spirit in the heat of the competition. He also thanked the question master Michael Chapman and scorers Myles Hammett and Frank Warboys. The quiz night also made Essex Ambulance winners as they will receive a donation of £700 which was raised on the night by the entrance fee and a raffle.
