ACTORS and singers from the Greville Theatre Club will be celebrating their 50th anniversary spring production with a play written by Noel Coward.
Hay Fever is a comedy about bad manners written in 1924 and first produced in 1925 with Marie Tempest as the first-ever Judith Bliss character.
Inspired by a weekend he spent at the house of the actor Laurette Taylor, Coward wrote the play in just three days.
Set in an English country house in the 1920s, it deals with the four eccentric members of the Bliss family and their outlandish and self-centred behaviour when they each, unbeknown to the others, invite a guest to spend the weekend.
