AN evening celebrating the music of singer/ songwriter Joni Mitchell was held at High Barn, Great Barnston on Friday.
Organised by Saffron Walden based singer/songwriter Joanna Eden, the audience was treated to a show incorporating a line up of artists with a wide range of different styles performing songs written by Joni but performed in their own particular ways.
Charlie Price, drummer throughout the evening and also from Saffron Walden, said: "It was an amazing evening. Everyone gelled really well and I can honestly say that it was one of the best gigs I have ever played in at the venue. It was a really memorable night."
Chris Bullen, owner of High Barn, said: "The whole evening was a great success. Somehow they managed to get jazz singer Ian Shaw to open up the show and he kicked the evening off big style."
The finale to the evening saw all of the musicians on stage to perform Big Yellow Taxi, Free Man in Paris and Raised on Robbery.
Chris Bullen, owner of High Barn, said: "These evenings have proved very popular in the past and I'm pleased to say this was no exception. The variety of musical styles means there is something for everyone. We don't want to go down the tribute act route."
Kiki Dee will be performing at High Barn this Friday. Tickets cost £22 each and are available from www.high-barn.com or by telephoning 01371 811291.
