A HORSE called Tequila has been rescued from a swimming pool in White Roding by firefighters wearing lifejackets.
Fire crews from Leaden Roding and Chelmsford were called to the incident on Chelmsford Road at 12.23 yesterday (Wednesday).
Sub Officer Doug Reed from Leaden Roding Fire Station said: "The horse had escaped from its paddock and had managed to fall into the swimming pool, the cover was on the pool at the time and the horse became trapped in the water.
"Crews drained the pool of water, then placed bales of straw in the empty pool to help rescue the 30-year-old horse.
"The horse was checked over by a vet and placed in a stable to get over its ordeal."
Firefighters wore lifejackets and used two sets of strops and one light portable pump to rescue the horse by 13:26.
