A FASCINATING talk entitled "The History and Development of Carriage Driving Through the Ages" is being given in Saffron Walden on Monday.

The talk has been organised by the Saffron Walden Museum Society and will take place at 8pm in St Mary's Parish Rooms, Church Street.

Speaker Jonathan Dick will educate listeners on the history of horse-drawn carriages from the Roman era right through to the 20th century.

He will also draw on his and his wife's success in competitive carriage driving, in which they have become national champions and represented England at international events.

The Mossman Carriage Collection, the largest collection of carriages in the country, will also be covered by the talk, which promises to be both educational and entertaining.

Members of the museum society will be asked to contribute £1 for the talk. Non-members are welcome but will be asked to pay a £3 entry fee.
