WOULD-BE Steven Spielbergs could be spotted in Saffron Walden last week after sessions for budding filmmakers.
Saffron Screen hosted two workshops, led by tutor and filmmaker Ryd Cook, to teach young people how to make super-hero movies and create a one-minute film, all while picking up camera skills.
County High student Hope-Hero Ley, who volunteers at Saffron Screen, went to the second event. She said she had “a great time” putting together a one-minute movie.
“It has been really fun,” said the 17-year-old. “I really enjoy helping out Saffron Screen and I think it is brilliant they are doing something a bit different.”
Hana Mallet, marketing manager of Saffron Screen, said: “The film workshops were a great success, giving youngsters the opportunity to be a super-hero for a day and learn professional film-making skills along the way.
“We have had fantastic feedback from the students and look forward to showing the films on our big screen this autumn.”
