Uttlesford’s new youth council for teenagers is buzzing with ideas just months after being established.

The non-political body, which is made up of young people aged 13-19 from across the district, has met five times since forming in March.

It has set up working groups to explore mental health, transport and the future of Walden School, as well as its own terms of reference and constitution.

Its representatives report to Uttlesford District Council’s full council.

Youth member Caitriona Quigley said: “Forming a youth council was never going to be easy but we have found it just as fun as it is challenging.
