A DUNMOW retirement home is inviting the community to join staff and residents on a new initiative aimed to promote the physical and mental health benefits of dance.
As part of Bupa’s “Shall we Dance” initiative, Crot House, in Braintree Road, is opening its doors on June 20 in an attempt to get the community dancing.
Staff and residents will also be performing the ‘Bupa dance’, a specially-choreographed dance which includes different moves to suit people of all ages and capabilities.
Manager Sally Rushant said: “We’re really looking forward to putting on our dancing shoes and sewing on our sequins. Our ‘Shall We Dance’ event is a great opportunity to invite members of the local community into our home to take part in fun activities with our residents, staff and relatives.”
Strictly Come Dancing stars Ann Widdecombe and Anton du Beke officially launched the national campaign this week.
