There is still time to enter our winter art competition as the deadline has been extended until Monday (December 16).
The Broadcast, along with The Gallery on the Park and the Dunmow Pantomime Group, are asking youngsters to create pictures which represent winter.
There are categories ranging from Nursery to Year 6. Winners from each category will have their picture framed and exhibited in the gallery’s Christmas window display, and the second-place winners’ pictures will be mounted and displayed.
An overall winner will also be chosen – with the prize a family ticket (two adults and two children OR one adult and three children) to see Peter Pan by the Dunmow Pantomime Group, at Foakes Hall on Thursday, January 2, 2014.
Broadcast reporter Emma Hardwick said: “This is a really great opportunity to get kids away from their phones and computers and do something creative.
“I loved going to watch the pantomime when I was younger and I think this is such a fantastic prize – it would be silly not to
take part!”

To enter the competition the picture needs to be dropped into the gallery with a £1 entry fee, by Friday, December 13.
The only rule is that the completed piece of work has to fit on to an A4 piece of paper.
All the money raised will go to the Helen Rollason charity, which aims to provide better support for cancer patients.
Judging the competition will be Dunmow’s resident artist, Tom Deakins, who has had his work exhibited at the Royal Academy.
The Broadcast will also publish as many of the pictures as possible over the festive period.
