Students at a Stansted school are fundraising in order to pay for their trip to a Greek orphanage.

Forest Hall School has supported the Smile of the Child charity for several years, with students getting the opportunity to visit the orphanage in Corfu.

The school established the link to give youngsters the opportunity to go abroad and help those less fortunate.

The next trip will see Year 10 and 11 students visit the orphanage in July, but they must first raise £600 each to fund their journey.

The Stansted school raised £95 from a bake sale organised by Year 7 student executive team charity ambassadors, a yoga night helped one student to raise £40 towards their trip and a talent competition also boosted the coffers.

The school has raised several thousand pounds for the orphanage in recent years and helped to refurbish the toilet block.
