A Stansted man will appear in court next month in connection with the death of a “loving father” outside a Dunmow pub.

Kieren O’Rourke, 42, was assaulted outside the Boars Head pub in High Street on April 8.

Man dies after altercation outside pubMr O’Rourke, of Barnards Field, Thaxted, was taken to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford and later transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where he died on April 18.

A post mortem examination gave a preliminary cause of death as a head injury.

Now prosecutors have summonsed David-Lee Conlan to appear in court to face a charge of Mr O’Rourke’s manslaughter.

Conlan, 31, of Childs Lane, Stansted Mountfitchet, will also face a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm against a second man.

He is due to attend Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on November 22.

At the time of his death, Mr O’Rourke’s family said: “We as a family are devastated by the tragic loss our Kieren, a loving father, son and brother.”
