THIRTY-FOUR exhibitors and over 200 exhibits made the Felsted Garden Club spring show a success.

The show was also well supported, with lots of visitors enjoying the stunning array of colours.

Alison Moore won the club trophy for the most points in the daffodil section with Pauline Turner taking the Presidents Cup for three daffodil blooms.

Jack Roper won the cup for the best overall horticultural exhibit for her three daffodils with a split corona.

Pauline Turner also shares the trophy for pot grown plants with Pauline Knowles whose pot grown daffodils were awarded a judges special commendation.

Ken Turner won the trophies for his vegetables and seedling.

George Bellingham Smith won the club trophy for his efforts in the tulip classes.

Overall the horticultural judges were very complimentary about the very high standard of exhibits.

The floral art classes were well supported with Barbara Sallows winning the club trophy and Glynis Smith winning the Stansted Airport Trophy for best overall floral art exhibit.

Barbara was also rewarded for her efforts in the photographic classes winning the club trophy.

In the cookery classes Coral Sach was overall winner with her exhibit of a delicious-looking carrot and coconut cake.

Seven-year-old Ella Forder was presented with the Timms Trophy for the best overall children's exhibit for a fantastic bug made from vegetables. Its body was a carrot with a slice off a radish for a nose and peas on the ends of cocktail sticks for antennae and celery leaf wings.

Ella's younger brother William won a rosette for his exhibits.

Andrew Knowles, 14, won the under-16's trophy, scoring 18 points in the main classes.

Glynis smith won the handcraft trophy for her hand knitted shawl.
