At Dunmow Primary School, to raise money for BBC Children in Need, pupils and teachers were invited to come into the school dressed as spots and sparkles, in exchange for donations.

Headteacher Kevin Watts lead by example wearing purple leggings, a white top decorated with hugh, colourful spots and glitter all over his face. He completed his outfit with a headdress of shiney balls on springs.

The children arrived in gloriously glittery get-up and raised £520.25. They also had a “bounce off” in the afternoon when there was a race between children and staff to see who could cover the length of the school hall fastest on a space hopper. It was difficult to say who won or lost in the melee.

There were also prizes in Pudsey Bear competition to see who could create the most sparkling Pudsey on paper. This was judged by teacher Colette Brace who picked five winners,
