THREE healthcare workers are set to take the ultimate plunge for charity by jumping out of a plane thousands of feet in the air.
THREE healthcare workers are set to take the ultimate plunge for charity by jumping out of a plane thousands of feet in the air.
Aiming to raise around �1000 each for the Alzheimer's Society is Alison Mockford, Claire Rawlinson, they will be joined by Laura Riley who aims to raise the same amount for the Children's Burns Trust.
Both Alison and Laura work at the John Tasker House surgery in Great Dunmow and Claire is a healthcare assistant at the Yogi pharmacy.
At the age of 46 you may think that Alison is probably the bravest of the trio, until she reveals that she has previous skydiving experience.
"I did one about 10 years ago for the same charity," she said. "It is great fun and I have been passing on a few tips to the girls. We are al very excited and are defiantly going to go through with it.
"I remember that last time I was just glad to get out of the rickety plane!"
Both Claire and Alison have a close association with the Alzheimer's society after losing close relatives to the disease.
Claire said: "Fundraising is going well, I have about �900 already so it would be great to get to my target before the jump. It is a bit nerve racking but I'm not going to chicken out."
