Finchingfield scouts showed their gratitude to staff at a convenience store in Great Bardfield after they were given a donation to repair their headquarters.
The Co-operative Community Fund has awarded the group a £2,000 grant to assist with the urgently needed refurbishment to its base, on Finchingfield park.
Members of the 1st Finchingfield Scout Group, with their leaders, dropped by The Co-operative, on Brook Street, to thank manager Daniel Powell.
Scout leader, Mark Wells, explained that the very welcome grant will go towards the urgent need to repair the leaking roof and stabilise the walls.
He was also pleased to report that the group has expanded “dramatically” over the last few years and now boasts a membership of around 80 young people aged between six and 18.
