STEBBING primary school said goodbye to an 'outstanding' teacher last week as Eilidh Huntingford called time on her illustrious career.

Mrs Huntingford is retiring, after 18 years of teaching at Stebbing, returning to her native Scotland, giving the children and staff one last opportunity to celebrate her Scottish heritage.

There was not a dry eye in the house as the piper led Eilidh into a Scottish themed assembly. The children then sang, danced, acted and told jokes for the guest of honour.

After school Eilidh had tea with all her friends and colleagues, past and present. Headteacher Janet Matthews said: "We will all miss Eilidh, her professionalism and humour is outstanding and we would like to wish her all the best in her retirement.
