SCHOOL children will be observed by CCTV cameras on their way to school under a new scheme.
Pupils travelling by bus to Helena Romanes School will be the focus of attention for newly installed CCTV camera's designed to abolish anti-social behaviour.
Deputy Head Graham Potter did say that that the cameras were not installed to tackle any particular problem with behaviour, but just a natural progression, and a sign of the school being proactive.
The Parsonage Downs school has around 1500 pupils of which 800 get to school daily on buses from surrounding villages. Staff can now monitor behaviour directly from the live bus feeds and decide if punishments should be handed out.
Mr Potter said: "It is just an extension of the current CCTV system we already have at the school.
